Business 2.0 - Triangle Named Nation’s
Hottest Job Market
The Triangle's job market soon will be booming
again, according to Business 2.0 magazine.
The magazine's March issue anoints the Triangle
as the nation's hottest job market, placing the area atop a ranking
of 20 "Boom Towns" that will generate 850,000 skilled
jobs in the next four years.
San Jose , Calif., was No. 2 on the list, while
Washington, D.C., placed third. Austin, Texas, and Atlanta rounded
out the top five. Charlotte ranked No. 19 on the list.
Employment Review- Triangle Named #1 Place
to Live and Work in America
For the second year in a row, magazine editors
at Employment Review named Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill
the number one “ Best Place to Live and Work in America.”
Editors wrote that the Triangle “offers
a great quality of life, a low crime rate, affordable housing,
top-notch educational institutions, some of the best healthcare
facilities in the world, a diverse industry base, and an environment
in which it is ideal to raise a family.”
The article goes on to describe the area’s “thriving
business sector,” its first-rate healthcare facilities, and
that the region is “the premier address for relocating and
expanding companies that want access to technology-transfer opportunities” through
Research Triangle Park’s close ties to the three local universities.
Another key ingredient in attracting employers and residents to
the Triangle is its central location between the mountains and
the beach and the high quality of life the area maintains.
UNC-Chapel Hill Awarded Top Honors
The University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill has been recognized
by Kiplinger for the sixth straight year as the nation’s
